The Not Your Average Theater Group proudly presents the world premiere workshop production of “THAT’S MY MOTHER!” the musical for anyone who’s loved a mother, a child, or a best friend. This hilarious and heartfelt musical comedy will open on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in Soref Hall at the Soref Jewish Community Center in Plantation. From the same creative team that brought you last season’s hit sold-out musical “ONE SUMMER IN BROOKLYN,” this show tells of the lifelong friendship between women and men of different generations and ethnicities who meet in high school and stay in each other’s lives for the next 50 years. Filled with laughter and tears, this tuneful and toe-tapping musical sweeps audiences everywhere from the city streets of New York to the beaches of Boca Raton. “THAT’S MY MOTHER!” is filled with heartwarming and humorous songs by the award-winning songwriting team of lyricist Mitchell Uscher and composer Roy Singer. In association with Associate Producer Carrol Mendelson, they also created last season’s smash show “ONE SUMMER IN BROOKLYN” as well as the hit musical “MAMALEH!” which has been performed hundreds of times all over the country.

The powerhouse cast of “THAT’S MY MOTHER!” includes Spensyr Bach, Jacynth Brown, Michael Gillespie, Marisol Morales-Dow, Daniel Sanchez, and Diane Tyminski.

 It is directed by award-winning director Mitchell Uscher.

Performances for this production of “THAT’S MY MOTHER!” will take place at 2 PM and 7:30 PM on Saturday, May 2, 2026, and at 2 PM and 7:30 PM on Saturday, May 9, 2026. Take your MOTHER to See “MOTHER!” On MOTHER’S DAY WEEKEND. On Sat. May 9th, Mothers will receive a complimentary goodie.
